Let's play a kahoot game about pollinators at a zoom conference!

Let's post comments about pollinators:

What pollinators do you see in your community?

How would your community change if there were no pollinators?

  1. 1.In my area I can see butterflies, flies, birds, bees and bats. Bees, flies, butterflies and birds are everywhere, and bat bats are hard to see in or around the city. I saw them for the first time in my village.
2.In our opinion, if there were no pollinators, then the fruits on the trees would stop appearing. If no one pollinates the flower, then it will simply fall off and bear no fruit.

I completely agree with your opinion on if you had no pollinators.
Do you think that this would affect the whole world if we did not have pollinators?
What impact do you think having no pollinators would have?
Do you think we could survive without it?

What I see pollinators doing in my community is keeping plants and other things alive. Giving humans veggies, (cooking) oil, plants, flowers and sooo many other things.
How would your community change if there were no pollinators?
What I think would change is Humans won't be as healthy and not have as much healthy food, and animals will get sick because they won’t have the natural elements that they need to survive.

  3. Helping pollinators

I see a lot of honey bees, wasps, and hornets in my community. It would be bad if we lost all the pollinators. If there were no pollinators there would be a shortage of honey and most of the flowers would die! If we wanted to help the pollinators we could maybe get some more bee farmers and stop squishing bees and wasps. We could give them their own reserve or wildlife area so no one could harm them. These are some ideas I thought of to help pollinators.

My community would change from having no pollinators.
For an example if I had no pollinators in my community there wouldn’t be good healthy flowers, plants, and more. Having these pollinators is the only reason we have a healthy community.
We need to contribute to save some of these wonderful pollinators if we want our community to be alive and strong.

Our community would change drastically because if there are no pollinators all the plants can't spread and then die out. If there are no plants the herbivores there aren't herbivores if there's no herbivores the carnivores die and if all of them die omnivores die. Next we all die.

🌼 Some pollinators that I see in my community are butterflies, bees, moths, and occasionally some butterflies.
🌼 If there were no pollinators in my town, we would not have Farmer’s Markets, and almost no fresh fruits and vegetables. I also think that we would have less flowers. I wonder if that means that we would have less weeds as well.
🌼 One thing that I am doing to help pollinators is I am planting lots of flowers for the bees to pollinate.

The pollinators keep plants living and healthy. i see the most butterflies and bees they are the most common in Colorado.
How would your community change if there were no pollinators?
The community would chang a lot because the plants would die and the animals would die and the plants are dead because the pollinators would not be pollinating all the plants that they eat . Also we would not have fruit and vegetables to eat.

I saw bees and butterflies at my grandmother's in the village, in the garden and in the flower beds.If there were no sawdust, there would be no fruits, vegetables, berries. 14. I see bees, wasps, birds, butterflies in my community. Yes, my community would definitely change, for the worse. There would be no flowers which would make my community very dull and sad. There would be no fruit to eat, no wool for jackets or hats so we would be cold in the winter because the sheep wouldn’t have hay. To solve this problem we have to stop polluting, stop taking away there habitats and find a way to cure their diseases.

  15. One of the pollinators that live in Colorado are bees. Another one is butterflies from time to time. If there were no pollinators in Colorado, it would be hard for flours to spread, so Colorado would look less beautiful. Also without the bees, there would be no honey, which I wouldn’t necessarily like. Also, Colorado would just seem dull without pollinators. An idea of mine to save pollinators would be to put little nectar and pollen boxes hanging in the trees to help the pollinators do what they do best: Pollinate!

If there were to be no pollinators, it would change our environment drastically. There would be no fruits or vegetables, no plants or trees, we would live in a very dark, colorless environment. But luckily there is a solution. If we stop using pesticides and plant native flowers, our pollinators will have somewhere to live without having to worry about deadly pestisides.

If pollinators went extinct it would cause a catastrophic effect possibly destroying humanity over time. Pollinators are a way more important part of our every day living than we think. Without pollinators in our world we would starve, this is because pollinators are a keystone species meaning if they went extinct it would cause a catastrophic effect on the environment. if there were no pollinators it would cause a domino affect killing off everything leading up to human.

I believe that if the pollinators disappear, everything will be much worse, for example: trees will cease to bear fruit, many plants will not bloom at all, there will be nothing to grow in the fields, the fruit will not ripen, so still cook from fruit can not cook. ..so take care of pollinators and nature :)

  25. So I think that pollinators are in huge trouble because they are encountering one of the deadliest beings on Earth... Humans. Let's just talk in the way the big companies will understand why we should help pollinators. Bees make 160 billon dollars of profit in the world every single day just by honey and roughly 2 times more with pollination took into the calculatins. If bees were gone all these profits will be equal to zero. Most of our products will be gone. Most of people that have their companies by bees will lose everything and will go bankrupt. And all of these problems will not happen if we do something, so why don't we start fixing our behaviour now? If we don't start now, we maybe won't start at all.

Every meal that we eat has something in it that we would not have if our pollinators did not exist. There are some places that are doing everything they can to save them. If there were no pollinators we would not have most of our food, like produce that come from crops the pollinators wouldn’t be able to pollinate and help the crops grow. Different foods would start to go away like apples, blueberries, chocolate, coffee, melons, peaches, potatoes, pumpkins… And we want all of that! Pollinators do much more

  44. 1.My grandfather has got bees in the village. Every summer I live next to them. I observe how hard they work in the garden. Except for bees, pollinators are butterflies, bats, beetles, birds, small mammals who are responsible for bringing us food. Pollinating animals travel from plant to plant carrying pollen on their bodies. When a pollen grain moves from the anther (male part) of a flower to the stigma (female part), pollination happens. This is the first step in a process that produces seeds, fruits, and the next generation of plants. Somewhere between 75% and 95% of all flowering plants on the earth need help with pollination – they need pollinators. 2.Besides food, pollinators support healthy ecosystems that clean the air, stabilize soils, protect from severe weather, and support other wildlife.

  47. There are a lot of bees in Ukraine and that is why people have been engaged in beekeeping since ancient times. This brings to humanity many useful products such as honey, pollen, honeycomb, wax. Their main job is to pollinate plants. The bee is one of the most important insects on the planet. Without their labor, we would be left without most of the fruits, vegetables, and plants. Recently, their number has been sharply decreasing due to environmental pollution.
